My approach to designing brand identities is flexible and tailored to your specific needs. After we agree on a project, the process typically includes brand discovery/strategy, concepts, design development and assets, and implementation.

This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. You can share your business goals, why you’re investing in branding work, and your future aspirations for the brand. I’ll then provide a rough cost guide. If everything aligns, I’ll prepare a detailed proposal.
The proposal outlines the project schedule, deliverables, pricing, and terms. You might adjust the scope to fit your budget or add additional elements. I request a 50% deposit to begin, with the balance due upon completion.

Some form of brand blueprint is crucial before moving forward with brand identity design. I offer flexible options here based on whether you already have a brand strategy, want to undergo one and how deep you want to go, or just need a simple 'brand foundation' that will inform the creative brief.
I often partner with brand strategists who will dive deep into understanding your business through thorough research, including market analysis, competitor review, and customer insights. This phase may involve site visits, interviews, and desktop research. This will be a documented framework for how the brand is defined, to encourage resonance and connection with the audience and will encompass several different elements like brand substance, positioning, persona, and messaging.

This is the prototyping stage, where we explore how to bring your brand’s purpose and attributes to life and visually present it to the world in a way that resonates with the target audience.
This typically includes one or two concepts, shown in real-world contexts such as web pages, brand collateral, signage, social media, packaging, etc.

Once the design concept has been approved, we move on to refinement, creation, and delivery of the core brand identity assets. These typically include logo files, colour palette specifications, typefaces, graphic visuals, icon sets, etc. This may also include the commissioning of photography, illustration, motion graphics, and copywriting if required.

I ensure a smooth rollout of your new brand identity across all platforms. This might include web design, creating brand collateral, packaging design, signage design, and production specifications, etc.
I often create brand style guides as part of a new or refreshed branding project. This ensures the brand can be consistently rolled out by marketing teams and other suppliers.
